A couple of days ago I was photographing my friend's 6 month old baby and she told me "We never see eachother unless we get pictures taken, we need to go to dinner or hang out or girls night, something! Honesty Megan, I don't know how you're so motivated or stayed motivated. I have no desire to own my own business".
And I said " you know that's perfectly OK! Not everyone strives to be a business owner, or entrepreneur."
But to answer her question, it's actually the hustle that motivates me. It's the rise and grind mentality. I don't know what it is about it but it's something that burns inside of me. I love looking back on a productive day and feeling good. Of course everyone's definition of productive is different. So my day is going to look completely different than yours. But yes the grind, the hustle, the small steps, the consistency and the high of checking off a to-do list is really what keeps me going. One of my favorites things is to see the little steps add up into something big.
I have 2 other motivations I call upon when I feel like I can't give any more. One is my family, because let's face it, there are bills to pay and I want to be a good role model for my daughter. Not that I want to push her to be entrepreneur like me, but the fact that I want to teach her she really can do anything she wants in this world.
And two, the people I photograph! I want to give something back to them. For them to look at their lives and know they are beautiful and all their special moments were captured on camera and ready for them!
So what I'm saying is that it whatever you choose to do with your life, give everything you got. Wether it's being the best mom you can be, the best waitress, the best teacher, or whatever path you choose. Do the work with all your heart and I promise, you won't regret it.
